User Front End
Scroll through our frontend by clicking & pulling down while hovering over the desktop.
Use vCharM from a browser-based front end with a modern and intuitive user experience
A browser-based interface gives the user access to all functions. The implemented role management allows to adapt the views to a respective user role, such as operator or administrator. The user can only access features, which are granted for the configured role. Operators of multiple charging parks can switch between the individual customer accounts directly in the frontend. Moreover, the interface is available in different languages and as a white label version. An HTTPs connection secures the access.
Manage your charging stations on the go with the vCharM app
The mobile vCharM app provides the most important features for charging station operators. Downtimes are reduced, since the charging infrastructure can still be monitored via the app when the CPO does not have access to the regular user front end, e.g. during maintenance work.
Features
Load Management

Manage load consumption dynamically with configurable charging strategies
Load management is required at the latest when the total power of the charging stations exceeds the available installed power. However, costs can also be saved beforehand by avoiding peak loads at individual charging stations. The operator decides on the prioritization of the charging processes by selecting the charging strategy that suits best. An interface to an energy management system (EMS) is used to optimize the load management. Therefore, no fixed limits and additional reserves are necessary for charging sessions, but the charging power depends on the actual available power.
Charging Station Control

Monitor, configure and control charging stations via OCPP 1.6J, OCPP 2.0 and OCPP 2.0.1
Charge points can be configured, monitored and controlled via the user interface. Guided dialogs support the operator in his various tasks. In case of problems with a charging session, the operator is notified and supported in failure diagnosis. Additional documentation of the charging infrastructure, e.g. schematics of the electrical setup, can be uploaded and stored in the user frontend. This is especially helpful for charge parks with charging stations from various brands. Communication with the charging station is via the manufacturer-independent OCPP protocol.
Vehicle Preconditioning

Monitor and control individual vehicle preconditioning via the implementation of Value Added Services
The control of the preconditioning of electric buses was standardized by the Verband Deutscher Verkehrsunternehmen (VDV) as a Value Added Service. vCharM supports the VDV 261 specification and offers various control interfaces.
Vehicle Authorization

Manage and verify vehicle authorization requests
Various methods are available for the authorization of charging sessions. vCharM supports established technologies such as RFID chips, Autocharge and Plug & Charge according to ISO 15118.
Reports

Generate and analyze reports with statistics of finished charging sessions
Reports with statistics on completed charging operations can be created for various purposes. Pre-defined reports can be customized and exported if desired.
Fleet Management

Automate data exchange with your fleet management system
Existing fleet and depot management systems can be integrated via an automated data interface (REST and VDV 463) and used for optimized load management or pre-conditioning control. The open and standardized interfaces ensure a high interoperability between charging station and depot management systems. Fleet and depot management systems can use vCharM data for their own purposes, e.g. the planned charging sessions for the fleet can be visualized. Further tools can also be integrated, such as a maintenance ticket system.
Clearing

Log transactional data of charging sessions in law-conform manner
Meter readings are centrally recorded and processed. The data is made available for billing transactions. The meter readings can be protected against manipulation by a digital signature in order to meet the requirements of the new calibration law.
Certificate Management

Management and validation of contract certificates and charging station certificates
Enable vehicle and charging station authentication and charging authorization by Plug & Charge according to ISO 15118. Securely exchange contract data for clearing and invoicing between the vehicle and the backend.
Supported Standards
- OCPP 1.6J, OCPP 2.0 and OCPP 2.0.1
- VAS/VDV 261
- VDV 463
- ISO 15118
- DIN 70121
- IEC 61851
- IEC 63110 (planned)
Protocols
Smart Charging with ISO 15118 and OCPP 2.0.1
The protocols ISO 15118 and OCPP 2.0.1 provide a comprehensive interface to control the power consumption of charging procedures for electric vehicles. With vCharM, you benefit from the latest OCPP version 2.0.1, including improved transaction handling and increased security. Security is also enforced by TLS encryption of the whole communication, enabling for example secure firmware updates and authentication. In addition, support for ISO 15118 with regard to smart charging requirements, e.g. for Plug & Charge, is implemented in OCPP 2.0.1. Besides, OCPP 2.0.1 offers device management and thus an improved possibility for the customer to retrieve and define configurations and also to monitor a charging station.
Load Management
Static load management
With static load management, a total power output is defined for all charging stations, which is distributed to all charge points. Unless a special prioritization is defined, every vehicle is provided with the same charging power, no matter when it arrives. So if more vehicles are added to the charging gradually, less power is available for each individual vehicle.
Dynamic load management
With dynamic load management, the total charging capacity is adapted to the power consumption of the building. If less electricity is consumed there, more is available for charging the electric vehicles and vice versa.
Schedule-based load management
Schedule-based load management integrates departure times, required power and other vehicle priorities into the distribution system, so that electric vehicles that have to leave the charging park earlier can be charged more quickly.
Individual charging strategies
Would you like to design your load management individually and develop your own charging strategy? We offer pre-configured charging strategies, e.g. for charging bus depots and for employees charging at their workplace, or advise you on the development of your individual charging strategy.
