Inside ADAS ECUs, you can measure sensor data via XCP synchronously with the execution of the software with Vector’s VX1000 hardware. Using CANoe Option AMD/XCP, sensor data can also be stimulated cycle-per-cycle to a new software version of the ADAS controller. This allows you to create 100% identical scenarios for complex test strategies.

What Can You Do With It? | What Problems Does It Solve?

The replay or re-creation of scenarios for ADAS ECUs is quite complex. Normally the algorithms on the ECUs rely on data from multiple sensors which may provide their data via different bus systems. Even a very accurate replay on CAN in parallel with a video replay may not restore the exact same scenario from a test drive inside the ECU. You have no influence on the processing times inside the ECU (for example, when the application reads the receive buffer of the CAN controller).

With VX1000, you can write multiple memory locations synchronously to the execution of the applications. With this approach, you can solve all inaccuracies and reliably create any scenario of sensor data.

Where Can You Find This Function In CANoe? | How to Start the Process?

Open the XCP/CCP window and set the “STIM” feature to “Supported”.

In the parameter list you will see three new columns STIM Enable, STIM Trigger, and STIM Calibration. The correct time for the stimulation is determined by the settings in the STIM Trigger and STIM Calibration columns. For operation with the Vector VX1000 hardware, a DAQ event must be configured as STIM trigger, which is triggered by measuring another parameter with this DAQ event during ECU operation. The STIM calibration event, on the other hand, may be used exclusively for the stimulation of parameters.

The CANoe system variable values are automatically copied to a DAQ list when the DAQ trigger event arrives and transferred to the ECU with the STIM calibration event.
