TESTinsights and VectorCAST
Web-based software analysis for improving quality and efficiencyTESTinsights extends the functionality of VectorCAST to accumulate all results of software examination and software test activities from all participants with a collaborative service. Participants analyze these result data collaboratively in web dashboards to gain insights from different points of views and levels of abstraction.
Additionally, the analysis can be used to base activities and decisions onto analytical insights regarding quality and progress. Overall TESTinsights helps to minimize the test effort through intelligent test strategies such as Change-based testing.

Highlights
VectorCAST / TESTinsights Connector
Use VectorCAST to push result data manually from the UI. The TESTinsights Connector (part of the VectorCAST installation) can be used for the CI/CT use case to push result data.
TESTinsights Service
In the TESTinsights Service all result data from software testing (from all test levels) can be stored. This data is the base for the analysis of the current state of a project and for the impact analysis.
TESTinsights Web Client
The TESTinsights Web Client runs in modern web browsers and visualizes the result data stored in the TESTinsights Service. It allows the detailed analysis of software examination result data regarding quality and progress.
TESTinsights CI Client
TESTinsights CI Client is a local component which can be used for the CI/CT use case to request affected tests for the change-based testing.
SCM Connection Service
The SCM Connection Service is a locally installed utility component which communicates with SCM tools to request SCM info to enable the collaborative usage of the result data.
How it Works
TESTinsights is an App that runs within the Vector Team Services that are provided as a SaaS service. Within the Vector Team Services there are self-contained data sections called Team Areas. The goal of the Team Areas is to share data with the members of the Team Area. Team areas serve to isolate data against other Team Areas. Membership for a Team Area is managed in Vector Team Services. Users of Vector Team Services may belong to several Team Areas and use them in parallel. TESTinsights always works in the context of a specific Team Area and visualizes the results that are available to the selected Team Area.
The user collaboration is done in the Team area. The TESTinsights App runs within a Team Area and contains projects, Test Objects and Execution Records. Users are authenticated with password credentials and are assigned roles and rights for the Team Area.
