Easy Analysis of CCS Charging Communication

With VH5110 – also called "CCS Listener" - you can analyze the communication between a charging station (EVSE) and an e-vehicle (EV) based on CCS protocols. The VH5110 "listens" to the data communicated on the Control Pilot Line (CP) via Powerline Communication (PLC) and converts them into Ethernet frames that are interpreted in CANoe. In addition, the PWM parameters of the basic communication are measured and displayed in CANoe as system variables.

  • Neutral behavior, therefore no influence on communication

    • direct connection
    • indirect connection by means of inductive coupler around the charging cable

Application Areas

Neutral, seamless listening of the CCS communication between e-vehicle and charging station:

  • in the vehicle for testing during ECU integration
  • in the field, when analyzing interoperability problems or interrupted charging
  • in the test vehicle for continuous recording of the charging processes in connection with a data logger

Functions

  • Measurement of voltage, frequency and duty cycle of PWM communication according to IEC 61851
  • Listening to PLC communication and convert to Ethernet frames for display and analysis in CANoe
  • Seamless listening of SLAC and V2G messages of the DIN 70121 and ISO 15118 protocols
  • Full compliance with the HomePlug Green PHY specification
  • Listening to the HomePlug specific communication between the PLC nodes
