Boston Scientific
Embedded Testing with Patient Safety and Reliability
The Boston Scientific COGNIS® CRT-D (Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Defibrillator) is the smallest, thinnest high-energy CRT-D in the world. The COGNIS® CRT-D was designed, built and tested with patient safety and reliability in mind.
Boston Scientific uses VectorCAST/C++ with MC/DC for the most safety critical aspects of their application and was a critical component of their development process to ensure FDA compliance.
ICU tech GmbH
ICU tech Uses VectorCAST to Meet IEC 62304 Certification
Headquartered in Switzerland, ICU tech GmbH is a leading hardware and software solutions provider for a variety of different sectors, including a dedicated department for medical technology. Working closely with their customer Schaerer Medical, ICU tech uses VectorCAST for testing critical embedded software systems used in Schaerer’s Mobile Operating Tables.
These devices combine mechanics, hydraulics, and electronics into a state-of-the-art system for which the quality and security are key factors. ICU tech chose the VectorCAST test automation platform for its advanced functionality and IEC 62304 certification.
infoteam Software AG
Developing Custom Software Solutions for Medical Applications
Headquartered in Bubenreuth Germany, infoteam Software AG develops custom software solutions and systems for the leading manufacturers of automation and drive systems, medical devices, and laboratory automation. infoteam’s engineers have deployed the use of VectorCAST on a variety of software development projects where functional safety is a requirement.
After an extensive evaluation process, we chose the VectorCAST Automated Test Platform for its intuitive interface, advanced functionality, and its TÜV SÜD IEC 61508 certification. With VectorCAST, infoteam’s engineers are able to meet the functional safety requirements outlined in EN 50128, IEC 61508, and IEC 62304. Additionally, VectorCAST provides automated solutions for unit, integration, and system testing, as well as code coverage analysis, requirements traceability, and on-target testing.

Model-based Solutions for Medical Systems:
An Integrated Approach for the E/E Development
Medical devices are networked, collect data, adapt behavior and can learn independently. The days of developing a single isolated medical device are long gone – today, development focuses on medical system solutions with widely varying complexity. To keep increasing complexity manageable, model-based processes for electrical/electronic development are now available.
