Formula Student
Record-Breaking Potential
Students from various faculties at international universities are passionately involved in the Formula Student racing teams. The teams compete in three classes – with combustion engines, electric drives and autonomous vehicles. Since 2009, Vector has been supporting many of the teams with analytical, test and measurement data evaluation tools, network interfaces, data loggers and technical expertise. The aim: to support the high level of student engagement through hands-on training. Formula Student calls for interdisciplinary collaboration and agile product development processes – important skills and expertise that will help students in their professional lives.
Currently, Vector sponsors the following teams:
EcoCAR Mobility Challenge
The EcoCAR Mobility Challenge (EcoCAR) is the latest version of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition (AVTC). The four-year competition challenges 11 university teams to apply advanced drive systems and networked and automated vehicle technology to improve the energy efficiency, safety and customer appeal of the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer – specifically for the car-share market. EcoCAR, sponsored by the DOE, General Motors (GM) and MathWorks and led by Argonne National Laboratory, is at the heart of automotive ingenuity in working on future mobility solutions. Vector supports each team with CANoe and the Car2X option, a CANalyzer and a CANape with the DriverAssistance option, and a VN1630 log. The goal is to support future engineers with the best tools for the future of mobility.
