RELEASE HIGHLIGHTS
New Features in PREEvision 9.5
Have a look at release highlights and most important changes in our premier tool for model-based development of distributed, embedded systems in the automotive industry and related fields.
Modeling Support and Usability Improvements
Simplifying the design of E/E systems is one of the main goals of PREEvision 9.5. In this ongoing process, Service Pack 3 marks the next milestone. Apart from general improvements and corrections that come with a Service Pack, PREEvision 9.5 SP3 adds plenty of features with modeling support and usability improvements.
To name a few: Complex data types including computation methods can now be created with only one click. A dedicated user interface leads step by step through the modeling of product variants. And the auto-layout feature generates wiring diagrams that are easy to read. With as little crossings as possible, it clearly depicts all the components connected to the main ECUs.

High-Performance Computers

In modern vehicles, complex ECUs and high-performance computers (HPCs) complement the simple ECUs of AUTOSAR Classic to fit the computing needs of functionalities like connectivity, electrification or autonomous driving.
High-performance computers aggregate microcontrollers and microprocessors with multiple cores. PREEvision supports the modeling of high-performance computers including execution contexts, internal busses, switches, etc.
Basic software and applications can share available resources (Memory, IO, communication channels, etc.) by using a hypervisor. The combination of platforms (AUTOSAR Classic, AUTOSAR Adaptive, Android, etc.) on one hardware is possible.
Extended AUTOSAR Concepts

PREEvision stays hard on the heels of the AUTOSAR Adaptive development. PREEvision 9.5 supports AUTOSAR Adaptive version 19-03 released in early 2019.
PREEvision offers multiple diagrams and a dedicated user interface to model AUTOSAR Adaptive components as well as combined systems of AUTOSAR Adaptive and AUTOSAR Classic. The AUTOSAR Adaptive Explorer provides tools like tables or data syntheses to create an Adaptive system from scratch.
The modeling of mixed systems of AUTOSAR Classic and Adaptive has been facilitated. Via drag and drop, software interfaces of both platforms can be connected to an adapter that translates between the Classic and Adaptive interfaces.
C++ data types are now supported, too. PREEvision 9.5 also supports AUTOSAR 4.3.1 and 4.4.0 to import and export ARXML files for the Classic platform.
Platform and Product Line Management

PREEvision 9.5 offers an extended approach to platform and product line management that is tailored to the development processes in the automotive industry. It supports the development in several levels or stages with dedicated product lines for each level.
In this way, you can start from a rough layout of the basic architecture and continue to refine and detail the design downstream. Each level serves as a source for the next development levels. In case PREEvision is not the central data base, the import and update of components from an external master system is supported.
Server API

To further facilitate the access to model data, the server API introduced with PREEvision 9.0 offers now writing capabilities. Customers can develop external applications or web-based interfaces to modify the data in the model. You can create and delete artifacts, change attribute values, relations or life cycles. For using the API, Vector offers a dedicated license.
