PREEvision is an engineering environment for electric and electronic systems in vehicles (E/E systems) and can serve as a central data backbone for your E/E development. As a single point of truth, it can drive the transition from document-based to model-based development. To easily benefit from PREEvision, Vector provides services to host and operate the Collaboration Platform needed for multi-user environments.
How It Works
Your engineers work with the powerful and highly customizable PREEvision Client on their computers. The actual database they are working on is in the Cloud and operated and maintained by Vector.
This means that you and your teams can concentrate on your engineering tasks while experienced IT administrators at Vector provide the servers that are needed. The Vector support then also assists in case of hosting-related requests.
To further reduce the effort for you, the Hosting Service can be enhanced by additional services, like Premium Support, Migration Support, and Migration as a Service offerings.
PREEvision Collaboration Platform
PREEvision is designed for carrying out complex E/E projects in large organizations and can serve as a central data backbone for all E/E development. The server based PREEvision Collaboration Platform enables team operation of PREEvision. Developers, designers, and engineers can work together on the same data at the same time, even from different locations.
In PREEvision, a lock and commit concept prevents data collisions and ensures conflict-free work and efficient cooperation. All operations can be executed directly on development artifacts. The Collaboration Platform includes product and release management, as well as change and configuration management.

| Do you offer PREEvision completely as a Service? |
| We offer the Hosting of the Collaboration Platform as a Service. The PREEvision Client itself is installed locally on the End-User’s computer to benefit from the advantages of the powerful Client. |
| Which network requirements must be met? |
| PREEvision Clients need access to the internet (direct or via a proxy Server) For good performance, an appropriate internet bandwidth should be available and low latency is beneficial for good performance. |
| Are there extra costs for network traffic? |
| Network traffic on server side is included. |
| Can I get full access to the system? |
| You will get a PREEvision Administration user account, so that you are able to manage users and models, and to fulfill other key user administration tasks. Providing direct access to the operating system or database level is not possible. |
| Is model management part of the Hosting Service? |
| Model management is a functional task that is carried out by your key users and not part of the Hosting Service. But if you require help here, we provide additional services tailored to your needs. |
| Is there an option for additional environments or using an API Server component? |
| Yes, just contact your sales representative for all available options. |
