Vector E-Mobility Symposium 2022

Great to see you all again in person! Many of you attended our symposium, asked questions after lectures and discussed the latest challenges in the breaks. A big focus of the event was on the new features offered by the recently released ISO 15118-20 document, but also Megawatt Charging Systems, Grid Integration and Bidirectional Power Transfer were highlighted.

Vector Virtual E-Mobility Symposium 2021

Exciting and innovative solutions are becoming more available to allow electric mobility to enter the mass-market. In order to still enable knowledge exchange in times of COVID-19, the Symposium 2021 took place virtually.

Besides interesting presentations Christian Steiger (ABB), Dirk Burghaus (Mennekes), and Dirk Großmann (Vector Informatik) debated the future of electric charging in the context of the upcoming ISO 15118-20 in a panel discussion. Together with the panelist the participants were able to learn how charging might look like in 2030 and how the infrastructure side must evolve.

Vector E-Mobility Engineering Day 2019

Key challenges in the rollout of electromobility include interoperability between electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, expansion of the fast-charging network, and provision of electrical energy with the available resources.

At the 6th Vector E-Mobility Engineering Day, experts discussed the latest developments. In addition, the participants were able to visit a hands-on workshop on charging communication the day before. Here Vector experts taught how to perform automated conformity and interoperability tests of communication between EVs and charging stations according to DIN SPEC 70122 and ISO/IEC 15118-4.

Vector E-Mobility Engineering Day 2018

Ongoing debate about diesel cars has benefited electric mobility by shifting it more into the public spotlight. However, road users are generally unaware of the specific challenges associated with this form of transportation. Specialists are working intensively to fulfill the technical prerequisites for successfully managing the transition.

Visitors to the 5th Vector E-Mobility Engineering Day got an impression of some of the issues involved – vehicle technology, the charging infrastructure and standardization.

Vector E-Mobility Engineering Day 2017

In 2017, the Vector E-Mobility Engineering Day was again used by more than 80 professionals and experts to exchange information about the status quo and developments around e-mobility. In addition to the keynote by Dr. Joachim Fetzer on the changes and development in the automotive market due to e-mobility, there were eight other interesting contributions from industry and science. But even away from the presentations, attendees were given plenty of time to discuss current developments or find out about the latest products at the trade exhibition that accompanied the event.

Vector E-Mobility Engineering Day 2016

To enable an easy journey for our foreign participants the 3rd Vector E-Mobility Engineering Day successfully took place close to the Stuttgart airport. Within eight 30-minute lectures the 49 participants exchanged their ideas and experiences with renowned speakers and Vector experts in a relaxed atmosphere: in addition to battery technology and the state of inductive charging, the focus was also on the specifics of certificate handling at the plug and charge message set. The breaks between the presentations were also welcomed to visit the accompanying exhibition about the E-Mobility solutions by Vector and other vendors.

Vector E-Mobility Engineering Day 2015

At the 2nd Vector E-Mobility Engineering Day the focus was on the status of standardization and the preparation of the first series vehicles with inductive charging. In addition, charging station manufacturers presented their point of view of charging communication. And analysis capabilities of inductive charging were demonstrated live. In his keynote presentation Michael Schwaiger from the BMW Group gave an overview of the past, present and future of charging communication in the sense of ISO/IEC15118. More than 50 participants from industry and science attended the Engineering Day.

Vector E-Mobility Engineering Day 2014

In 2014 Vector welcomed 35 participants to the first E-Mobility Engineering Day. Five external and three internal speaker presented current topics in smart charging and testing of the charging communication. One of the highlights was a live demonstration of a charging test with a BMW i3 and an e-Smart. We received excellent feedback. For this reason, it should not have been the first and last E-Mobility Engineering Day.
