To efficiently implement over-the-air (OTA) software update strategies in a vehicle, download, activation and rollback mechanisms must be realized with the least possible impact on vehicle availability. A growing number of automotive microcontrollers support dual-bank flash memories that allow seamless switching from one software version to another. In particular, the software download is possible in the application context while driving. This webinar will present the features, architecture as well as functions and prerequisites of Vector's software download solution for MICROSAR Classic. The dual-bank flash memory strategy will be discussed and compared to other OTA update approaches.
