VectorCAST: Running VectorCAST Unit Tests in a Hardware Emulator

I have written some unit tests and executed them on my host machine. I am still waiting for the real hardware to be delivered but in the meantime, how do I check that these tests will run on the target platform using an emulator?

During our Elevenses today, we will show you how to build and run tests using a hardware emulator. There are many emulators and simulators available and in this example, we will use the QEMU emulator. QEMU is a generic and open source machine emulator.

You will learn:

• How tests built for your host machine can easily be reused for the target platform

• How, using an emulator, can accelerate your testing if hardware is unavailable

• Adding specialized tests only relevant to hardware

Please submit any questions or requests to nigel.rozier@vector.com and we can review these as topics for future Elevenses with VectorCAST.”
