In recent years, hybrid electric aviation has developed into an interesting and innovative industry with new technologies and mobility concepts. There are already some promising flying eVTOLs (electric Vertical Take Off and Landing) from e.g. Airbus, Boeing, Kitty Hawk and Volocopter but there is no infrastructure yet to operate larger air taxi fleets profitably. A smart loading infrastructure must provide capacity for both fast ad-hoc loading and the loading and unloading of the air taxis in the hangars. This article deals with charging technologies and concepts in the field of electromobility of vehicles, which may also be applicable to electric air taxis.
