With Service Pack 3, the following changes become effective:


  • Symbol Explorer

    • New column “unit” for all symbols
    • The partially cancelling of the search is visualized better now

  • In offline mode, the channel mapping can be set flexibly per file.
  • The standalone mode dialog has been revised. A new plug-in for the Platform Manager provides the basic functions for standalone mode.
  • The system variables dialog allows the configuration of the write access in case of Multi-CANoe.
  • The CAPL function graphicsWindowFit works correctly now when the Graphics Window is closed
  • Panel Designer

    • If the text of the description of the Input/Output Box is too long, you can select whether the start of the text or the end of the text should be displayed
    • The “Text and Control function” aligns controls (Input/Output Box, Combo Box, Check Box, Radio Button) and adjusts the width of the label and element
    • Switch values from value tables can be assigned for the Button, Check Box, LED Control, Media Player, Radio Button, and Switch/Indicator controls

  • Support of ASAM XIL API v2.1.0
  • ASR Explorer

    • Read Only text fields can be copied from property view
    • When deleting signals not needed signal triggerings will be removed


  • The Autosar Interaction Layer supports General-Purpose-I-PDUs and General-Purpose-PDUs.
  • Toyota Message IDs are supported in standalone mode.

Diagnostic Feature Set

  • Improved Support of 4K displays and reworked design of the diagnostic windows
  • Improved robustness:

    • of test modules in combination with DoIP
    • when logging in the pre-filter branch
    • when applying invalid parameter values for the parameter ALFID for service $2C $02 requests (Dynamically Define Periodic Data Define By Address)

  • Deactivation of TesterPresent is working now with FlexRay in combination with diagnostic descriptions configured as FGR
  • The OBD window is now correctly updated after resizing it
  • In an ODB-II configuration for 29bit CAN Identifier at 500kB baud rate, flow control messages are now sent with the correct timing
  • Improved Support of diagnostic descriptions with Japanese translation
  • Improvements in the Diagnostics/ISO TP dialog on Japanese systems and regarding diagnostic descriptions configured for FlexRay as FGR
  • Improved handling of parameters which are defined across byte boundaries

Test Feature Set

Together with vTESTstudio 3.0 SP3:

  • Support of “profiles” for variant property settings: a profile corresponds to one set of variant property values; you can define as many profiles as you want and switch between them easily.
  • Specific filter on control flow commands in the Test Report Viewer enable hiding of control flow test steps as “For Each loop” and If/Else statements.
  • By a surrounding element in the report, all iterations of a loop can now be collapsed / expanded together.
  • Interface functions can now have input parameters of type “runtime message”. For example, a CAPL function with an input parameter of type message* can be called within the Test Table Editor.
  • Definition of dedicated check points in the Waveform Editor to easily realize synchronized checks related to a stimulation curve.
  • The Connection Utilities for IBM DOORS NG/RQM, Siemens Polarion ALM and PTC Integrity can be automated via command line.

CAN interactive generator:

  • Triggering on frame reception is possible
  • Triggering on System Variable update or change is possible


  • Security Example configurations are displayed in CANoe in the Sample Configuration area (File->Sample Configurations).
  • New/Advanced Security CAPL functions for fault injection (Freshness, Keys) and control
  • Transport Layer Security (TLS): Extended dialog for security configuration: Assignment of different PKI security profiles to TCP/IP stacks.              
  • Backend communication on RT systems (VN89xx, VT60xx, RT Racks)

    • Requests to the OEM backend are forwarded to the user PC via a secured channel.
    • The OEM Security package must support this communication.

SOA (service oriented architectures)

  • The new ASAP2 Studio Viewer for viewing A2L files is installed with the 64bit version of CANoe now
  • Parameter list of the XCP/CCP Window: The column filters offer selection of multiple values now. This allows displaying parameters from several folders simultaneously.
  • EPK check is now available for CCP devices, too.
  • Improvements of the XCP trace observer

    • XCP version number is correctly decoded now
    • Time stamps for XCP on Ethernet are now displayed consistently and are calculated correctly
    • The activation setting of the observer is now preserved when changing the A2L file
