Discover the Next Generation of Ethernet Network Interfaces
As your partner with many years of experience in the development of Automotive Ethernet solutions, Vector now offers a new and optimized way of accessing and using Ethernet network interfaces. This also includes new versions of the Ethernet interface software (device driver) for current and future interfaces.
With that said, the powerful VN5620 and VN5430 interfaces support analysis, simulation and validation of Ethernet networks. Following the powerfullness , the robust VN5650 features synchronous monitoring of Ethernet networks and can also be used for frame, load and fault generation during tests. The VN5240 outstands with regard to monitoring and analysis and provides, in combination with the VP6400, recording of Ethernet data in the vehicle.
Last but not least the newest Ethernet interfaces VN5611 and VN5612 act as compact and convenient interfaces. The VN5611 is a flexible interface for Automotive Ethernet IEEE 100BASE-T1/1000BASE-T1 while the VN5612 optimally supports Standard Ethernet IEEE 100BASE-TX/1000BASE-T.
Advantages
Flexible and Scalable Approaches for Test Setups

The new firmware allows flexible use of the interfaces in different application areas. Due to the new and versatile configuration possibilities, it fulfills the individual requirements of the test setup.
Through a freely configurable connection of the available Automotive Ethernet ports using different segmentation types (switch, link), you can create suitable analysis, test or simulation configurations.
If you need a larger number of ports for your test setups, you can easily access multiple interfaces. In addition, you get extended assembly options and PC connection variants through the alternative connection of the VN5610A, VN5640, VN5620 and VN5430 interfaces via Ethernet in addition to USB.
Additional Test and Recording Components Can Be Integrated Easily
New firmware functions allow you to easily expand your measurement and test setups with additional 3rd party equipment. This can now also be synchronized with the interfaces using IEEE 1588 (Precision Time Protocol).
Extended Filter Options
With the port-based access, application tools such as CANoe and CANape access the interface according to a new scheme. The application only considers the Ethernet ports that are important for it. This enables the application to receive and process only the relevant Ethernet packets and reduces the computing load on your PC that is required for processing non-relevant packets.
Extensive Ethernet packet filters are also available. These filters remove irrelevant Ethernet packets based on packet content. Filtering is possible via e.g. IP addresses, TCP ports or MAC addresses.
Free Definition of Topologies
The requirements for an interface differ depending on the area of application and desired functionality. When measuring, you need many TAPs (Test Access Points), whereas when testing with the help of a residual bus simulation, you often emulate a certain topology. A simple Ethernet port is often sufficient for pure access to the network.
With the new firmware, you can set up simple and complex topologies on the interface. The topology can comprise one or more networks. The networks can be distributed over several interfaces. This allows you to adapt the interface very flexibly to the respective requirements.
Simple Configuration
With a new and user-oriented configuration surface, you can set up the interfaces clearly and conveniently. The graphic display of the topology, and the drag and drop assignment of the Ethernet ports simplifies configuration and increases clarity.
The new configuration surface supports the handling of different interface configurations and the exchange of configurations with other project participants. Configurations can be easily stored, loaded and distributed using the PC.
With applications that support the new firmware, you can apply predefined configurations to an interface at startup.
