PREEvision 26.4 accelerates and simplifies data exchange across systems engineering tooling landscapes. Whether requirements are exchanged via ReqIF or software and interface descriptions via Franca or AUTOSAR, the new release improves performance and streamlines workflows across development projects.

As a comprehensive systems engineering tool, PREEvision can serve as the starting point or central database in a development landscape. It can consume development results from other applications and provide data for downstream tools. PREEvision 26.4 strengthens these workflows.

Exchange Data Faster Across Development Tools

New metric blocks automate the import and export of Franca IDL (FIDL) files. PREEvision 26.4 also enhances the existing ReqIF blocks and improves the Requirements Engineering Web Client, providing easier access to requirements.

Route Complex Wiring Harnesses More Flexibly

PREEvision 26.4 gives wiring harness designers greater flexibility. After the harness geometry has been defined, the wiring harness router identifies suitable routes for wires and cables. Previously, the contents of a cable were generally routed together. A new routing option allows all cores and shielding elements to be routed independently, supporting complex harness topologies.

Accelerate AUTOSAR Workflows

AUTOSAR exports are now significantly faster. The export wizard has also been simplified, while a reworked AUTOSAR cluster extract improves performance and makes customization easier.

Make Daily Work More Efficient

Usability improvements simplify daily work with PREEvision. During the first client startup, PREEvision now downloads files twice as fast. More consistent and clearer interface terminology further improves usability.

Evaluate Upcoming Features Early

PREEvision 26.4 extends the technology previews and beta features for baselining, PostgreSQL, and AI-powered functions.

PostgreSQL is currently being implemented as an alternative, vendor-independent database system. For projects that want to use PostgreSQL instead of Oracle, Vector supports the setup and beta testing with PREEvision 26.4. The official release of PostgreSQL support is planned for a future PREEvision version.

Highlights of PREEvision 26.4

  • Faster and simpler data exchange via ReqIF, Franca, and AUTOSAR
  • Metric blocks for importing and exporting Franca IDL (FIDL) files
  • Enhanced ReqIF blocks and Requirements Engineering Web Client
  • Faster AUTOSAR exports
  • Simplified export wizard
  • Improved AUTOSAR cluster extract
  • Independent routing of cores and shielding elements
  • Twice as fast file downloads during the first client startup
  • Extended technology previews and beta features for baselining, PostgreSQL, and AI-powered functions

Upgrade Without Data Migration

PREEvision 26.4 is available now. Users of version 26.0 or later can upgrade without data migration and use the new features immediately.

For earlier versions, a detailed migration manual supports the transition to the new platform. Subsequent upgrades can then be completed without additional data migration.
