During the development of an ECU it is necessary to perform extensive CAN conformance tests. The CANoe Test Package VAG creates a CANoe configuration for this purpose. The configuration includes test implementations according to the corresponding Volkswagen test specifications. The tests run fully automated and may be repeated at any time. Thus, the test effort is kept to a minimum.
CANoe Test Package VAG is verified and recommended by Volkswagen AG
Test coverage corresponds to the requirements of Volkswagen AG for suppliers

Highlights Version 4.0
Implementation of these VAG test specifications:
Network Management High and Network Power Management (DUM.000.AC.A)
Support of partial network operations for AUTOSAR-based platform "MLBevo"
Fully automated CAN conformance tests according to Volkswagen test specifications - while keeping the test effort to a minimum.
Creation of a remaining network simulation and an XML test module based on specific input files
The Volkswagen OEMs distribute to their suppliers the below listed input files that are required for the generation of tests with the CANoe Test Package VAG:
TestBaseAdjustmentDocumentation (TBAD) for the ECU
CAN database (DBC) for the network
Partial network description (VSDE) for the network (only for partial network operation)
Depending on the Stromaufnahme von 2.5 A different hardware is required in order to perform conformance tests:
To perform the conformance tests the following hardware is required:
VH6501 - CAN (FD) disturbance hardware and network interface for CANoe
VH1150 - hardware for automation of ECU conformance testing or VT7001A - (power supply module) and a controllable power supply
--> .... 70 A ....:
Schematic test setup with VH1150 (hardware for automating ECU conformance tests)
To perform the conformance tests a full version of CANoe is required. Other required software is provided together with the test hardware or is free of charge (e.g. CANoe AddOn VAG Multibus Package).
The CANoe Test Package VAG 4.0 offers an implementation of the following Volkswagen test specifications:
High Speed CAN
Network Management High and Network Power Management
The test coverage is defined by Volkswagen.
Comprehensive Communication Tests for ECUs Developed at Volkswagen Group
Identical test environment for both OEMs and supplier
OEM-specific test implementations play an important role for suppliers in the ECU development process. They are used to check the network conformance, assure error-free communication between the numerous ECUs and are important criteria for the final acceptance from the automotive OEM. Suppliers of the Volkswagen Group (VAG) can now minimize both ECU development times and costs using a VAG-specific test software to automatically generate high-speed CAN tests according to the VW80118 specification.
