Technical Article: Testing the Unique - the Biggest Aircraft

The Airlander 10 is not only the world’s largest aircraft. The prototype also embodies a new type of hybrid concept, which combines the best of aeroplanes and helicopters with lighter-than-air technology to bring brand new capabilities to aircraft. In a pioneering project of this magnitude, meticulous testing of the control and communication systems plays an important role both before and during test flights. In the CANoe testing and simulation system, and in the VT System test hardware, developers have found the optimal tool combination for handling HiL testing of individual control units that ranges up to extensive monitoring tasks and verification of entire sub-networks.
