Informative and Flexible

For one week, we will bring you up to date on the top topics:

  • ADAS
  • Cybersecurity
  • Automotive Ethernet
  • E-Mobility
  • Testing

We repeat every session within the week so that you do not miss any important topic. Of course, each session has its own discussion group so that you can bring up your questions.

Compact and Future-Oriented

We broadcast 5 times a day from our Vector Virtual Week Studio in Stuttgart. In 30-minute sessions, our experts present the latest topics and discuss them with you. Daily discussions with specialists from the industry provide a glimpse into the future of major technologies. Your opinion is also sought here!

Session Agenda

You can book your sessions during the registration.

09:00 AM - System Level Test in Virtual Environments

Dr. Marcus Eggenberger - Senior Software Development Engineer - Vector

Unlike unit tests, system level tests are black-box tests that require an autonomously running SUT to verify correct interaction with the environment. Virtual environments remove the dependency on available test hardware, enable reproducible tests, and simplify debugging, all of which reduces the time to market.

11:00 AM - ADAS Logging - One Toolchain Fits All Sensors

Andreas Patzer - Manager Customer Relations - Vector

In vehicles, the ADAS sensors of many manufacturers are integrated into a complete solution. Each sensor manufacturer provides a logging solution for its sensor, but in a network with many sensors, control units and buses, a holistic solution is required for synchronous recording of all data.

01:00 PM - Modern ECU Development Pt. 1 – Mastering Challenges for the AUTOSAR Tooling

Dr. Michael Deubzer - Product Management AUTOSAR Tools - Vector

Trends such as software-driven development, agile and cross-company teams, as well as continuous integration have a significant impact on the tool chain for ECU development. In this talk, we will show the effects on the software tools for AUTOSAR Classic and Adaptive.

02:00 PM - Charging Completed – Application of the Vector/CSM eMobility High Voltage Measurement System

Boris Ruoff - Business Development Manager Measurement Technology - Vector / Dr. Andres Chavarria - Senior Software Developer Measurement Algorithm - Vector

Charging in the automotive environment places high demands on safety, availability and efficiency. Country-specific requirements and environmental conditions must be mastered. With our analysis options the charging process and the entire environment can be visualized during development and testing for optimization.

03:00 PM - Digital twinning of UAS – A Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulator With CANoe and PixhawkTesting

Dr.-Ing. Alexander Köthe - AlphaLink Chief Engineer - AlphaLink

Testing of flight control laws is essential for a successful and safe operation of Unmanned Aerial Systems. Currently, many drones use the Pixhawk as flight control computer. This has a CAN interface. We show you how a CAN connection between CANoe and the Pixhawk is established, how to use Simulink and CANoe for a Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulator, and how aircraft motion is visualized in hardware-in-the-loop testing in a web-based Virtual Flight Test Environment.

05:00 PM - Virtual Networking With VMs, Containers, Emulators, and CANoe

Dr. Christian Köllner - Manager Software Development - Vector

Docker, QEMU, VirtualBox, VMware and WSL are some well-known virtualization environments for running POSIX-compatible software prototypes on a development PC. This talk explains how to attach CANoe to the virtual Ethernet of such tools, thus enabling software tests.

09:00 AM - Global 1d Vehicle Simulation Strategy at GKN

Dr. Thieß-Magnus Wolter - Senior Director Global Engineering Services - GKN

At GKN, the global strategy for vehicle simulation enables seamless cooperation and exchange of models. The strategy for MIL and HIL applications focuses on three tools: Vector DYNA4 for virtual test drives, Amesim for component modeling and MATLAB/Simulink for the development of controls. We will present some practical applications at GKN.

10:00 AM - Modelling High-Performance Computers and Mixed System Architectures with PREEvision

Marcelino Varas - Senior Product Manager PREEvision - Vector

In this session we will look at system architectures that combine AUTOSAR Classic and AUTOSAR Adaptive. We show how existing architectures can be expanded by Adaptive components both in software and in hardware to benefit from the advantages of both platforms.

11:00 AM - Getting Instant Hands-on Experience with Software Updates Over-the-Air

Udo Schifferdecker - Product Manager vConnect - Vector

In the presentation you will see how easy it is to get hands-on experience with software updates over-the-air by using the vConnect evaluation bundle. Just plug in the Vector intelligent diagnostic device VN8810 to the OBD connector of a vehicle and use your personalized backend instance in the Vector cloud.

01:00 PM - Automated Software Tests for the Highest Criticality Levels in Practice

Ingo Nickles - Field Application Engineer - Vector

Dynamic software testing is a central part of the aerospace standard DO-178 and all standards derived from it. Similarly, high safety requirements are already in place for some ADAS features and will grow with software driven autonomous vehicles. In this presentation we will show how VectorCAST supports the dynamic verification process of safety-critical software in the highest level of criticality in avionic and other industries.

03:00 PM - Vector Panel Discussion 01

05:00 PM - Modern ECU Development Pt. 2 – AUTOSAR Basic Software and Beyond

Dr. Markus Oertel - Product Management AUTOSAR Basic Software - Vector

Next generation ECUs include microcontrollers and microprocessors. How can AUTOSAR Classic and Adaptive be combined most effectively? In this talk, we show how to design software architectures in order to benefit from the new technological advancements for security, safety and IPC.

09:00 AM - Dynamic Load Management for Cost Optimized EV Charging

Michael Epping - Team Leader Charging Station Management System (CSMS) - Vector

A rapid expansion of the charging infrastructure is possible with existing grid connections when always making full use of the available power reserves through dynamic load management.
A high level of reliability at optimal cost of the charging and load management requires a smart system architecture.
