In the automotive industry, development continues on the mega-trends of the day: autonomous driving, electric drive trains and connectivity. Vector stands for solutions for the development of sensors and functional safety, on-board/off-board charging technologies and a host of OTA solutions. Other trends include cybersecurity and new solutions for E/E systems. Tested, high-quality code is crucial for the successful establishment of new products with embedded software on the market.
In 2019, the number of Vector employees grows by more than 500 to just under 3,000 worldwide. This motivated team makes it possible for our product portfolio to grow alongside increasing requirements on the functionality and quality of Vector products. To satisfy the current and future need for space for both current and new colleagues, Vector purchases buildings adjacent to the Stuttgart location. Construction work begins on new buildings and extensions in Karlsruhe and Regensburg. The 13th international location is established in Romania.
Also in 2019, employees at our locations in Germany declared Vector a “great place to work” in an anonymously and independently conducted study. We took second place in the category for companies with 501 to 2,000 employees – our third time achieving such an outstanding overall placement since first taking part. We were also the first-place winner at the “Best Employers in Baden-Württemberg” special award ceremony for companies with 501 to 2,000 employees.
Vector’s broad range of products continues to be developed on the highest level, with a primary focus on connectivity, cybersecurity and automotive Ethernet. New functions are being developed for these technologies and custom tailored to users’ needs. For the testing of embedded software, Vector is developing new solutions for the automation of test activities over the entire software development cycle – not just for the automotive sector, but for any industry at all.
