VectorCAST: Using VectorCAST QA’s Just-In-Time Instrumenter To Capture Coverage and Variable Data From Model

Model-Based Design has been used for many years and has transformed the way Software Engineers work leading to a greater understanding of the system behaviour as well as the ability to automatically generate code. However the resulting source code must still be tested in order to achieve certification.

During our Elevenses today, we will use VectorCAST QA’s just-in-time instrumenter to capture coverage and variable data from the execution of a model-generated in Simulink. No configuration changes to the code generator tools will be required.

You will learn:

  • How to capture the variable data using VectorCAST Probe Points
  • How to use this variable data as unit test case parameters in an auto-generated unit test framework
  • How to explore the code paths that were not executed in the model SIL/PIL/HIL tests

Please submit any questions or requests to nigel.rozier@vector.com and we can review these as topics for future Elevenses with VectorCAST
