With Service Pack 3, the following changes become effective:
General:
- Trace window
- The Trace Output window can be split into two views. With this functionality you can analyze different time segments in parallel.
- If you mark a signal of a message in the Trace window, the position of the signal is highlighted in the data field.
- In the Date/Time column the real time with date and time can be displayed additionally. This information is also calculated in offline analysis.
- Visual Sequencer
- The sorting of commands is clearer and they are easier to select.
- You can use the Check command to integrate simple checks into your sequences.
- With the Write command you can write results to a file.
- You can use the Visual Sequencer in Standalone mode as well.
- You can also convert existing generators directly into visual sequences.
- Standalone mode with the VN8900
- All data can now be written to a BLF log file. You can configure the write functionality (e.g. filters, addition of supplemental data) via a CAPL node.
- System messages are logged automatically on the VN8900. You can display these in the Standalone dialog and the Standalone Manager.
- In the Standalone dialog and the Standalone Manager, you can upload files created during a measurement to the user PC.
- You can load several configurations to the VN8900 and select one of them for the next measurement.
- You can now query VN8900 status data via the Standalone Manager (e.g. active configuration, processor load, currently running measurement).
- You can now use the Vector GL3000 and GL4000 data loggers as hardware devices for monitoring purposes.
- Monitoring Mode with GL3000/GL4000: CANalyzer can use the loggers GL3000 & GL4000 as monitoring interface and thereby observe the bus systems in the vehicle.
- CANalyzer can now also read the TTL logging file format.
Diagnostics Feature Set:
- The Diagnostics/ISO-TP Configuration dialog has been revised. The tree structure enables you to navigate more easily and gives you a clearer view of the diagnostics descriptions.
- MDX diagnostics files for Ford are now supported.
- K-Line: The timing parameters can now be modified; You can now specify whether or not "ECHO of bytes sent" is expected.
Option .LIN:
- Basic support of LIN2.2 LIN Description Files
Option .MOST:
- VN2640: Enhanced feature set of the MOST150 Interface of Vector
- Support of Electrical Control Line (ECL): Signal sequences can be defined in CAPL which are replayed on the ECL with a time resolution of 1 µs; The configuration of the glitch filter of the ECL receiver allows to either suppress or explicitly receive noise pulses on the ECL.
- Support of synchronous channels/audio features:
- Synchronous channels can now be streamed to or fed from the PC via USB.
- A demo configuration can be found in Demo_MOST_CN\MOST150_Streaming.
- The S/PDIF output can now be muted from CAPL via MostSetSyncSpdifMute.
- The bandwidth which can be allocated in the synchronous area, is no longer limited to two audio channels. Now, you can allocate as much bandwidth as you like, e.g. to provoke bandwidth shortages in the MOST150 system.
- Extended stress modes
- Blocking the receive buffers for control messages, data and Ethernet packets.
- The number of low level retries for bus load messages can be configured now.
- The minimum delay between AMS messages can now be configured to be shorter, to reach a higher throughput.
- MOST messages with variable length feature now also a start of frame timestamp, to allow for a more comfortable measurement of cycle times and message distances.
- Symbolic representation of acknowledgements in the Trace window and access to the flags PAck and CAck.
Option .FlexRay:
- FIBEX Explorer: You can export the signal list as a CSV file.
- Diagnostics: To increase the throughput between tester and ECU a diagnostics connection can use multiple FlexRay slots.
Option .Scope:
- New and reworked version of Scope Option with support of CAN and LIN
- Support of new scope hardware PS4227 from Picotech with max. sampling rate 100 MS/s and 32 MS buffer
Option .Car2x:
- Basic ASN.1 support with PER decoding
- With the new Map window multiple objects (ITS stations) can be tracked.
- The WLAN Hardware Configuration dialog displays identifiers of available devices.
Option .IP:
- An existing Ethernet Packet Builder can be opened by means of the View menu.
- IP Filter Block
- Remove filter is executed after confirmation.
- Issue with pass/stop filter mismatch after insertion of new filter is fixed.
- Up to 32 Ethernet channels are configurable.
- Remote CAN: Correct handling of Rx/Tx direction in CAPL nodes.
Option .J1939:
- Interactive Generator: Up to 28 data bytes are configurable for J1939 parameter groups.
- Trace Window: Event highlighting enhanced by diagnostic memory access messages reporting errors (DM14/15).
- Diagnostic Memory Access Window: Improved display and usability
- Logging Block: Trigger supports definition of J1939 PGN
- ASC log files with symbolic J1939 interpretation distinguish message names with different source address but identical parameter group number.
- COM server method GetJ1939Signal corrected
- J1939 Scanner: Manufacturer Codes and Device Name Functions updated
- J1939 CAPL extensions: Full support in VN8900 standalone mode.
- J1939 Filter Block
- Parameter group range filter condition supports destination address input for mixed PDU1/PDU2 format range.
- Improved display and usability
- Issue solved with reported inconsistency on changed node address in database.
- Example database J1939.dbc
- Parameter Group NM (0x9300) has been added.
- Parameter groups DPFC1, IC2, SERV and AT2TWCC have unique signal names now.
- Parameter groups CI (65259), DI (65131)) and VI (65260) including related SigTypes are corrected.
- Manufacturer Codes updated
Option .J1587:
- Measurement is stopped if no J1708 transceiver is connected.
- CANdb++ Editor: Column "J1587 PID" displays PID value including Page
- Trace Window: Multiple PIDs are interpreted and displayed if available in one message
