Variant Handling

The increasing number of ECU variants leads to higher administration effort. In order to reduce the complexity and hence the costs, you need intelligent and optimized solutions, so that the variety remains manageable.

Variant handling: Diagnostics

Equipment variants of a vehicle often differ significantly in their range of functions – Standard, Deluxe, etc. – and thus also in the diagnostic range. Therefore, in the diagnostics of different equipment variants, a distinction is made between these two variants:

  • Diagnostic Variants
  • Vehicle System Groups (VSG)

Variant handling: Communication

In communication, Vector distinguishes between three variants. Each one represents a solution optimized for its specific use case:

  • Reduced numbers of ECUs: Identity Manager Virtual Multiple ECU
  • Cross-model ECUs: Identity Manager Multiple Configuration ECU
  • Door ECUs: Identity Manager Multiple ECU
