Network Designer 2.2
About the Product Family
The product family DaVinci Network Designer and all its members have been renamed to Network Designer.
DaVinci Developer and Network Designer use different workspaces. Both tools have workspace files with different extensions. Workspaces of the tools can't be shared any more. Data exchange is done via export and import of files in the AUTOSAR System Description file formats.
New Features:
General Features for all Network Designers
- Support for Windows Vista and Windows 7.
For Windows 7 the 32 and 64 bit editions are supported. On the 64 bit edition, the application runs as a 32-Bit application in the 32-bit emulation layer (WoW64).
- Explicit definition of signal routings over gateways.
- Export of AUTOSAR System Description files.
Features for DaVinci Network Designer CAN
- Export the data of a single ECU to a DBC file. Export the data of all ECUs of a vehicle to one DBC file per ECU.
Features for Network Designer FlexRay
- Support PDUs for the design of the FlexRay communication.
PDUs are defined as global objects and can be assigned to FlexRay frames and/or nodes in a FlexRay network.
- Overview window showing the parameters of all FlexRay controllers in a single
view. View will be similar to the parameter view of FIBEX Explorer.
Due to parameter validation and semi-automatic parameter adjustment, the parameters can't be edited in the list view directly but in the connector dialog.
- Display the FlexRay schedule's TDMA structure and timing hierarchy of a FlexRay cluster graphically. Views will be similar to the views of FIBEX Explorer.
- Display the guaranteed part of the dynamic segment in the FlexRay schedule.
- Improvements in FlexRay consistency checks.
- Improved handling of FlexRay parameters:
- FlexRay cluster parameter dialog is restructured. All parameters needed for the schedule are available on the cluster dialog's high-level page.
- High-level parameters are checked in FlexRay consistency checks and can be adjusted auto-matically on demand.
Minor Improvements and Bug-Fixes
- Improved management of editor views. A view, e.g. the list of global signals or the Network Explorer of a particular network, will be opened only once by default.
- The exported FIBEX files will be pretty printed.
- Correct the display of user interface texts on Windows with Chinese fonts.
Features no longer supported in Network Designer
- The features for configuration management are no longer supported in Network Designer.
All user interface elements for the CM related features have been removed in Version 2.2.
Remark: Network design with the support of version and variant management is supported by eASEE.sdm.
