Description files for diagnostics and flashing

The ODX format (Open Diagnostic Data Exchange) is an XML-based ASAM standard for describing diagnostically relevant data in an ECU. Vehicle, ECU and tester producers use ODX to describe and exchange ECU diagnostic data.

In developing CDD (CANdela Diagnostic Data), Vector Informatik has developed a diagnostic format for describing the diagnostic functionality of an ECU. It is very easy to create and is designed as a data source for the entire diagnostic development process - from specification to code generation to test parameterization.

Using the CANdelaStudio authoring tool, you can generate ODX-C, ODX-D or CDD files - easily, quickly and conveniently - and without expert knowledge. CANdelaStudio gives you a problem-oriented view of diagnostic functions and their parameters. As a user you are not confronted with the complexity of the ODX data model. CANdelaFlash is available as an editor for generating ODX-F flash files. CANape reads in both ODX and CDD formats and displays the data in an integrated viewer.

Format Support in CANape Separate authoring tool
ODX-C ODX-D Access to diagnostic data and services without separate editor CANdelaStudio
ODX-F Flashing of ECUs with the help of ODX F-containers CANdelaFlash
CDD Access to diagnostic data and services with visualization via CDD Viewer CANdelaStudio

CANape reads-in diagnostic data in ODX and CDD format and displays them in the integrated viewers:

The flash sequence runs fully automatically under CANape based on the ODX F-container. The container contains all necessary data and information such as reference to the flash file, flash job and meta information.
