Development & Test Tool CANoe.Car2x

Develop, simulate and test embedded systems with WLAN

Communication between different vehicles or between vehicles and the infrastructure is performed via WLAN. Option .Car2x extends CANoe by adding a IEEE 802.11p conformant WLAN channel (pWLAN). This permits direct analysis of both the Car2x-specific application protocols and the application messages overlaid on them; in the Car2x field this might be the Cooperative Awareness Message (CAM) and the Decentralized Environmental Notification Message (DENM). Typical CANoe analysis blocks are used to display the information, e.g. the Trace, Data, Graphic and GPS windows.

Overview of Advantages

  • Direct access to WLAN packets per 802.11p to display and analyze communications
  • Interpretation of Car2x-specific communication protocols such as GeoNetworking and BTP
  • Programming interface with access to application messages such as CAM and DENM
  • Create and send your own configured WLAN packets easily with the WLAN Packet Builder
  • Send out faulty WLAN data packets for testing purposes
  • Simulate WLAN stations such as ITS Vehicle Station and ITS Roadside Station
  • Visualize the location of objects on a map, e.g. vehicles and traffic lights
  • Shared use of a test vehicle's existing WLAN module for the vehicle application and as a CANoe.Car2x measurement interface
  • Gateway functionality for measurements or data exchange between WLAN and on-board networks such as CAN

CANoe.Car2x simulates Car2x traffic light scenarios with ITS Vehicle and ITS Roadside stations. The ECUs/networks are analyzed in the Trace Window.
