Interfaces & ECU Drivers

Quick and variable access to the bus and internal ECU signals

Interfaces to the CAN, LIN and FlexRay bus systems as well as to analog measurement devices play a key role in optimal ECU calibration. Interfaces to internal ECU data also assume special importance.

Innovative measurement concept with maximum data rates and low resource usage

Because of the growing integration density of future controller generations, external RAM and ROM/Flash will increasingly be replaced by internal memory. Therefore, ECU data will no longer be accessible over the address and data bus. Chip manufacturers have developed special controller or debug interfaces so that internal data can still be accessed despite this situation.
Vector’s new VX line of interface technology is a solution that enables up to 100 times greater transfer rates than standard CAN, LIN and FlexRay interfaces. Besides offering higher data throughput, this solution is also characterized by short latency times, which is significant, especially in bypassing applications. Except for slight CPU loading, no other ECU resources are required for the microcontroller. In particular, no protocol driver (XCP/CCP) is needed in the ECU.

Simple integration of drivers and interfaces in ECUs

CCP and XCP are protocols being used today that have been standardized on the initiative of ASAM. Vector supports you by offering free sample implementations of CCP or XCP in your ECU. You can obtain the relevant driver as a free download. In addition, you can benefit from Vector’s comprehensive consultation and integration services for all aspects of your ECU software. CCP or XCP can be integrated as part of an embedded protocol stack and can be supplied as a complete package. Individual adaptation to your requirements can be performed quickly and conveniently with GENy, the configuration and generation tool for embedded software components.
