Solutions for AUTOSAR

MICROSAR DIAG supports On-Board Diagnostics
The DCM module contained in the MICROSAR DIAG package optionally supports OBD per ISO15031-5 / SAE J1979. It is used to query legally prescribed, emissions-related trouble codes and data. The OEM-specific module is compatible with AUTOSAR Release 3.1. You will find comprehensive information on diagnostics with AUTOSAR here...

Vector invitation to the 2nd AUTOSAR Symposium
On November 4, 2009 the 2nd Vector Symposium on AUTOSAR will be held in Stuttgart. Learn about the latest developments in AUTOSAR basic software modules, configuration tools, flashing and potential AUTOSAR business models. You will find a preliminary list of topics and registration form here...

Vehicle Diagnostics

Know-how: How to develop even more efficiently
Vector diagnostic tools help you to achieve effort savings by a factor of 7 on diagnostic specification and data implementation. Improvements by a factor of 4 to 20 can be achieved in automatic validation, depending on the project phase. Have a look at examples from practice here...

Diagnose your ECU directly via FlexRay
Do you need direct diagnostic access to your FlexRay ECU, especially in early phases of development? Vector now offers you diagnostic functionality directly over the FlexRay bus with CANoe.FlexRay that is nearly as easy as via CAN. More...

ECU Calibration

The new CANape 8.0 lets you calibrate ECUs efficiently and reliably
Whether you are measuring, calibrating or performing diagnostic testing on your ECUs, CANape 8.0 supports you with new, practical functions:
> Automatic data evaluation with convenient data mining user interface
> Envelope curve display for simplified analysis of measured data while simultaneously accelerating the loading process
> ECU stimulation via MDF files
> Functions Library with numerous evaluation functions.
A summary of all new features and demo version...

VX1000 measurement and calibration hardware for high transmission rates
The modular VX1000 system has been extended by adding standardized ECU plug-on-device hardware for a variety of microcontrollers such as:
> Infineon TriCore 17x7
> Freescale Power PC with Nexus Class3
> Texas Instruments TMS570 with RTP/DMM
More...

Analyze model behavior more efficiently in ECU functional development
Access to MATLAB/Simulink models – now possible with the new CANape Option Simulink XCP Server – promises considerable relief for functional developers. Without instrumentation signals from Simulink models  can now be visualized and parameterized in CANape. As a universal front end for measurement and calibration tasks, CANape increases efficiency in the testing phase for models in Simulink. More...

Case Study: Verify object recognition algorithms in driver assistance systems
In adaptive cruise control systems, only data related to vehicles in the car’s own driving lane are utilized to adapt the car’s distance to other traffic. To objectively evaluate the ACC system’s reliability and operating safety, BMW developers verify the acquired signals based on video images. This involves use of Option Advanced Multimedia for the measurement and calibration tool CANape. For more on this see the case study (PDF 784kB)...

ECU Software

Controlled airbag activation per ISO 26021 for KWP2000 ECUs
The new ELAPCU module for KWP2000-based ECUs enables controlled activation of pyrotechnic elements in the vehicle before its disposal. Related requirements are defined in ISO 26021-2 “ End of Life Activation of on-board Pyrotechnic Control Units” based on UDS. The resource-preserving Protocol Interpreter is available for a number of OEMs. Further details upon request...

Process Management

Collaborative Requirements Engineering
Rising cost pressure is forcing manufacturers and their suppliers to jointly master product development. Our experiences in working with Bosch, Ford and Volvo show how to connect requirements engineering and downstream systems development with respect to interfaces, data management and traceability. This report might provide you with a starting point for similar improvements in your own sphere. More...

Vector Forum 2009: OEMs and suppliers - Opportunities in the crisis
More than sixty managers discussed on the recent Vector Forum how to establish efficient win win partnerships. Experts from Alcatel-Lucent, BMW, Daimler, Diehl, Vector Consulting Services and ZF showed how to practically improve the cooperation between OEMs and their suppliers. Read the summary and download all presentations here...

Solutions for Open Protocols

CANoe.IP as a development tool for Car2x applications
In analyzing Car2x communication between vehicles and with the roadside infrastructure, CANoe.IP now also supports the wireless interface IEEE 802.11p. The tool simulates traffic scenarios with vehicles and infrastructure and simplifies development and testing of Car2x communication. Read more in the press release (PDF 877kB)...

Case Study: Wireless Analysis in a CAN Multi-Protocol Environment
In advanced development stages it is preferable to conduct tests and trial runs under real conditions at construction sites or field testing sites. Previously, BOMAG electronic developers were unable to simultaneously analyze the measurement data during field tests without having to ride along in the machines themselves. CANoe/CANalyzer.IP now enables contact with the device under test via a WLAN connection. More (PDF 743kB)...
