ECU Test

Know-how: Software testing by semi-synthetic driving maneuvers
From a cost and timing standpoint, it is nearly impossible to comprehensively test ECUs that have a large number of input values. To attain broad test coverage and good depth of testing despite these obstacles, Daimler – in its software testing of electrically actuated power steering systems – is achieving test case reduction by applying the methods of limit value and effects analysis. Tests on the testbench are based upon actual driving maneuvers. Their data traffic was recorded, manipulated and then fed back to the testbench. Download the PDF here (1.02MB)...

Know-how: Advantages of test case generators in model-based development processes
Automatically generated test cases simplify regression tests during the iterative development of complex models. Suitable transformations can be applied to re-use test cases that have already been generated, e.g. in ECU acceptance tests. This yields noticeable time and cost savings for functional developers. Download the PDF here (1.84MB)...

Know-how: CANoe working together with DOORS
The new Application Note "CANoe DOORS Interworking" describes the traceability and navigation from DOORS to CANoe test modules and vice versa. Furthermore you will learn how to generate CANoe test modules from DOORS, and how to import CANoe test modules to DOORS with the Test Automation Editor. Download the PDF here (487kB)...

Know-how: Versatile ECU tests right at the developer’s workbench
Functional testing of automotive ECUs must include its behaviour when faults occur. If for instance sensors deliver values that are not plausible or that do not comply with the specification, the control unit must respond in a defined manner.
