Vehicle Diagnostics

CANdelaStudio 6.0 now also supports ODX 2.2.0
In the new Version 6.0, ECU descriptions can already be created in the format of the new ODX 2.2.0 standard. ODX import and export (round trip) has been further improved for ODX-based data exchange. Multilingual ECU descriptions in ODX support global data exchange. In addition, improvements to the user interface simplify post-processing of data, e.g. in Excel. More...

CANdito 3.0 now also tests via OBD (On-Board Diagnostics)
In the new Version 3.0, CANdito can now read-out diagnostic data, e.g. the fault memory, via the vehicle's OBD interface. Besides its use as a diagnostic tester, the new Version 3.0 is also able to acquire and evaluate measurement data from FlexRay bus systems, besides CAN and LIN. Other detailed improvements such as the display of ODX data in the new ODX Viewer round out the product's new features. More...

ECU Calibration

CANape 7.0 simplifies calibration of ECUs
The numerous detailed improvements of Version 7.0 support vehicle and ECU developers with extended measurement data acquisition and a wide variety of diagnostic capabilities. Developers of FlexRay ECUs especially benefit from the FIBEX Explorer and dynamic allocation of XCP bandwidth. More...

VX1000 - High-speed measurement and calibration hardware
The VX1000 system is a modular solution for your measurement, calibration, bypassing and flash programming tasks. The Data Trace interface offered by various microcontrollers is used to provide up to 5MByte/sec data throughput with minimal impact on the ECU's execution time. The VX1000 can be connected - via the standardized XCP-on-Ethernet interface - directly to a PC on which a measurement and calibration tool is running, e.g. CANape from Vector. More...

Perform 'offline' evaluations even better with CANgraph 7.0
CANgraph offers a multitude of new functions for graphically-supported, signal-oriented offline evaluation of measurement data. The new Version 7.0 enables evaluation of FlexRay measurements too. More...

Use the new ASAP2 Editor 7.0 to create and visualize ECU description files
Software structures obtained from the Linker-Map files can now be visualized. It is also possible to read-in Microsoft PDB files as a new Linker-Map file format. The option of changing object properties as a batch operation can reduce work effort considerably. More...

Know-how: Verification of object recognition algorithms by driver assistance systems
To achieve an objective evaluation of control algorithms in the development of driver assistance systems, engineers at automotive manufacturer BMW rely on support of the measurement and calibration tool CANape. Many suggestions from the premium Munich-based OEM have been implemented in an extension that addresses the special requirements of calibrating driver assistance systems. Solutions for FlexRay

Know-how: XCP-on-FlexRay at Audi
To adjust parameter values in FlexRay ECUs, Audi calibrates them via XCP-on-FlexRay. One of Audi’s requirements was AUTOSAR compatibility of the XCP software modules embedded in the ECUs. To accomplish this, Vector modified both the XCP master and slave software so that Audi’s electronic developers could perform efficient measurements and calibrations. Dynamic allocation of the XCP bandwidth for FlexRay made this possible. To the press article's PDF download...

Know-how: Efficient access to the FlexRay bus
PC interfaces for various standards are indispensable tools in all development phases of automotive electronics, whenever access is needed to what is happening on the bus. OEMs and suppliers are facing especially complex challenges with the current introduction of the FlexRay bus in first production vehicles. Much more than with the CAN bus, high performance hardware is now a prerequisite for attaining reliable operation in all situations and fully exploiting the potential of software tools for simulation and analysis. To the press article's PDF download...

Solutions for J1939

Know-how: Developing with J1939
The J1939 protocol plays a key role in networking ECUs in commercial vehicles.
