Dear customer,
Design to cost is of increasing relevance in global competition. Concrete improvements with measurable results need clear concepts and a rigorous implementation. VCS has packaged pragmatic concepts and experiences in our annual conference “Efficiency Day”. We cordially invite you to this event on efficiency improvement which we host together with Hanser publishing. Lectures, benchmarks and proven methods from a variety of companies will show how you can get more efficiency in your engineering and related infrastructure.
Between the 8th and 12th of September Barcelona played host to this year’s international conference on requirements engineering. Requirements engineering (RE) is a discipline within systems and software engineering that bridges the entire life cycle and thus significantly influences the success or failure of a product or project. Good requirements engineering practices in industry are critical to success – and the ability to survive – in ever-changing markets. VCS Partner Christof Ebert chaired the industry track of this conference and illustrated our broad experiences and hands-on knowledge gained from many client projects in different industries.
What is the status of the current project? How does one measure, evaluate and improve efficiency? Software measurement ensures that you stay in control and focus on what matters most. Vector Consulting Services provides with this reworked and renewed edition of “Software Measurement” a comprehensive introduction to the topic. We detail knowledge and experiences about software measurement in an easily understood, hands-on presentation. Many concrete experiences from Global 100 companies such as Alcatel-Lucent, Atos Origin, Axa, Bosch, Deloitte, Deutsche Telekom, Shell and Siemens together with practical guidelines and checklists make the volume a valuable handbook.
Those who are not at least on level 3 will not survive on the market. The strive for efficiency and quality demands continuously improved processes. This is one of the messages from the recent ATZelektronik-Survey on Automotive SPICE. Most of the interviewees from various companies share this opinion. Others underline the relevance of the standard: Level 3 and its requirements should be interpreted rather than being taken as engraved in stone – while generally it is useful to marry SPICE and CMMI for good results. ATZelektronik has asked different companies on their opinions about SPICE. Vector Consulting Services has provided a position statement.
